Double Oaks Estate is a boutique cool-climate winery and truffle plantation located in the Macedon Ranges.

Located just 1 hour North of the Melbourne CBD, the site is situated in the picturesque town of Lancefield in the Macedon Ranges. Macedon Ranges boasts the coolest wine region in mainland Australia, offering excellent climate for premium wines.

Our vineyards were first planted in 1980 with Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Pinot Meunier and Cabernet Sauvignon operating over the next 23 years as Ashworths Hill. In 2003, the winery changed hands and began operating under MorganField Vineyard. Additional plantings increased the vineyard area to 10-acres under vine. Shiraz and Pinot Meunier varietals were subsequently removed, leaving equal amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

Some 36 years after the vineyards were originally planted, this magnificent property was bought by Travis and Kristy Chehab in 2016 under the label Double Oaks Estate. Having suffered catastrophic damage in the 2015 Lancefield bushfire, their young family set about to restoring the vineyards and starting their journey as winemakers.

Old foodies from way back, Travis and Kristy had a simple vision - great food with fine wine. Some 2 years in the planning, they planted their 5 acre truffiere in 2019 comprising Winter Black Truffles under French oak saplings. Truffle hunting expeditions will commence in 2024!

The Lancefield vineyard is undergoing expansion with the exciting addition of Gruner Veltliner (Austrian) and Saperavi (Georgian). Having recently purchased 20 acres in Heathcote, Double Oaks Estate will be expanding to provide greater depth of variety over two renowned Australian wine regions.
